Can You Appear for CMAT 2025? Age, Degree & Criteria
CMAT 2025

Before you start preparing for the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2025, it's important to ensure that you meet the official eligibility requirements. CMAT is a popular national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for students seeking admission into MBA, PGDM, and similar postgraduate management programs offered by AICTE-approved institutions across India. One of the most reassuring aspects of CMAT eligibility is that there is no age limit to appear for the exam. Whether you're a recent graduate, a working professional looking to upskill, or someone returning to academics after a gap, you can apply. The academic qualification required is a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution. Candidates who are in their final year of graduation and expect their results before the commencement of the academic session for 2025–26 are also eligible to apply.

That said, meeting the basic criteria does not guarantee admission—candidates must also qualify based on the individual requirements of the institutes they apply to. Most institutes expect a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in graduation for general category applicants and 45% for reserved categories like SC, ST, and PwD. There is no restriction on the number of attempts for CMAT, which means you can appear for it more than once without penalty. However, applicants must be cautious while filling out the application form, as any discrepancies or false information may lead to disqualification at later stages of the admission process. It’s also wise to review the specific eligibility rules of the management colleges you're aiming for, as some institutes might have additional criteria like work experience, group discussions, or personal interviews. Staying informed about both CMAT's general rules and institute-specific admission policies ensures you have a clear and successful pathway from registration to final selection.
