Medical Fraternity Seeks AIIMS INI CET Postponement Amid Nationwide Disruptions
Doctors request AIIMS to postpone the INI CET exam due to war-related disruptions, blackouts, and flight cancellations affecting candidates nationwide.

As war tensions ripple across the nation, severe logistical disruptions have sparked an urgent call from doctors and medical aspirants to postpone the AIIMS INI CET 2025 examination, originally scheduled for 17 May. Amid widespread power blackouts, communication breakdowns, and flight suspensions, concerns are growing over the accessibility and fairness of conducting the prestigious postgraduate medical entrance test under current conditions.
Doctors from across India, particularly those stationed in conflict-affected or remote regions, have taken to social media platforms and submitted formal requests to the AIIMS administration. Many highlight that aspirants are unable to travel to exam centers, access study materials, or complete final-stage preparation due to the unstable environment. “We’re not asking for an advantage—we’re asking for basic fairness,” said one doctor on X (formerly Twitter), adding that many candidates are in no state to travel safely or focus academically during a national crisis.
Adding to the chaos, airlines have suspended or delayed operations in key sectors due to war zone airspace concerns, especially near border areas. This, coupled with state-wide electricity outages, has left thousands of candidates scrambling without internet or digital access—tools that are essential for exam readiness. While AIIMS has not released an official statement yet, pressure is mounting. Student groups, medical associations, and influencers in the academic community have joined in urging the authorities to prioritize safety, equity, and mental well-being during such turbulent times. As of now, candidates await clarity, hoping that reason will prevail over rigid timelines.
