MHT CET 2025 Eligibility: Age, Qualification & Marks Guide
MHT CET 2025

The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) 2025, conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, is the gateway to top engineering, pharmacy, and agriculture colleges across Maharashtra. To be eligible for the exam, candidates must have passed or be appearing for their Class 12 (HSC) or equivalent examination with specific subject requirements. For Engineering and Technology courses, aspirants must have studied Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Technical, or Vocational subjects. Students aiming for Pharmacy courses need to have Physics and Chemistry, with either Mathematics or Biology. General category candidates need to secure a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the required subjects, while SC, ST, OBC, SBC, and PwD candidates from Maharashtra need only 40%. This flexibility ensures inclusivity across social groups and economic backgrounds.

Another major advantage for candidates is that there is no upper age limit for MHT CET 2025, allowing even drop-year and older aspirants to appear for the exam without restriction. However, all candidates must be Indian citizens, and those applying under state-level quotas must meet the domicile requirements of Maharashtra. This means students must have either completed their 10th and 12th standard education in the state or have parents who are domiciled in Maharashtra. Applicants from other states can still apply under the All India Quota (AIQ), but they are eligible for only a limited number of seats in unaided private colleges. Candidates must also ensure they meet the medical fitness standards for admission into professional courses, especially in fields like Agriculture and Pharmacy, where physical capability is essential. Any falsification in documents related to domicile, caste, or academic records can lead to immediate disqualification during document verification. It is crucial for aspirants to understand that eligibility is not just about passing the required subjects — it also includes meeting category-based requirements, submitting correct documentation, and following proper reservation norms. Candidates claiming reservations under EWS, OBC, SC/ST, NT/VJ, and PwD categories must submit their latest certificates issued by competent authorities. If any student wishes to seek admission through Management or Institutional Quota, separate guidelines are applicable. Applicants are strongly advised to go through the official information brochure released on cetcell.mahacet.org
